Iran: Shima Babai Summoned for Fourth Time after Her Release on Bail

Shima Babai, the 22-year-old civil rights activist, was summoned by IRGC for the fourth time after her release, one of her relatives told BCR Group. Officials summoned her by a phone call on July 11, 2016.

She has to be attended at "Inquisition Office" on July 13, 2016.

Previously, Shima was arrested by IRGC in a raid at her father's house at 23:30 on May 26, 2016. The IRGC officers seized her personal belongings- books, hand writings, and cell phones- in the attack, the rights group has learned. She was taken into solitary confinement cells at the notorious Ward 2-A of Evin prison where is the goal of inquisition.

Branch 3 of Shahid Moghadas Court, located in Evin prison, indicted Shima for ambiguous charges of "propaganda, assembly and collusion against the regime of Iran" and "insulting MP and the Supreme Leader of Iran" on May 27, 2016, Magistrate Husseini chaired the court

Finally, the IRGC released Shima on the bail of $33,000 (100 million Tomans) on June 1, after enduring eight days in isolation. She was daily interrogated for hours in critical conditions as mental tortures. 

Her father Dr. Ebrahim (Nader) Babai Zeidi was arrested during 2009 uprising against the result of 10th presidential election and sentenced to six years and nine months in prison at Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran. Dr. Babai was kept at Evin and Rajai Shahr for serving his prison term.
