Iran: Three Political Prisoners Taken to Hall 12 at Rajai Shahr Prison

Three inmates Saeed Shirzad, rasoul Hardani and Farshid Fathi were taken to Hall 12 at the Rajai Shahr prison on 12 July 2015, according to the news received by BCR Group.

 

Saeed Shirzad

 

Saeed, was arrested on 2nd June 2014 at his working place in Tabriz. Back in August 2012, he already faced judicial problems; he was forced to prison by state officials to handing numerous people in East-Azerbajdan being affected by a big earthquake. He was bailed-out after 19 days and later charged for a year on probation. Reporters of Harana informed, that Saeid currently is about to be sentenced once against to court as a danger to national security.

He did not appear at his last hearing in court because he refused to put on the unhygienic and disgraceful official prison clothes. As a punishment for that, the visitor�s right of his family was withdrawn.

For the beginning of the school term, Saeid wrote a note from prison where he appeals to children of feeling with him and being in solidarity with him.

 

Farshid Fathi

 

�Farshid Fathi detained on 26 Dec 2010 in a wave of arrests of believers in Tehran and other areas. Of the 22 believers arrested by security forces in Tehran, 10 were released after intense questioning and after they signed agreements to refrain from Christian activities. Eleven others were also later released. By the end of April, 2011, only Farshid remained in prison, though his family had paid an enormous bail sum. He spent nearly a year in solitary confinement.�

Farshid, a Christian convert from Islam, was charged with �acting against national security through membership of a Christian organization, collection of funds, propaganda against the Islamic Regime by helping spread Christianity in the country,� and sentenced to six years of imprisonment on March 5, 2012. Though the charge is for his Christian work, authorities tried to cast his activities as political offenses.

 

Rasoul Hardani

 

Rasoul Hardani detained along with his brother Khaled Hardani on the charge of hijacking and disturbing to flight safety on 2001.  He convicted to 22 years in prison.

Rasoul had written in the part of his hardship; �I was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment for passing excruciating condition months in solitary confinement of Intelligence Service. Judge of branch 20 of Revolutionary Court had sneered and said; you will figure out after losing your teeth and hair in prison when I asked him what was my guilty? I had passed 15 years, the best days of youth in prison. Officials reject my pleading letter to asking for health release or freeness.�
