Mohammad-Reza Pourshajari Was Transferred to Solitary Confinement

Mohammad-Reza Pourshajari, an Iranian blogger, was transferred to solitary confinement due to his hunger strike in Central Karaj prison on 7 Feb 2015.

Pourshajari has started a hunger strike in order to protest against filing false cases during interrogation, undecided situation and re-arrestment on 6 Feb 2015. He was arrested again after 38 days have passed since his release on 30 Sept 2014.

Officials had reportedly transferred him to solitary confinement after hours he had returned from 12 branch of Revolutionary Court of Karaj which chaired by Ayoub Ebrahimian.

Pourshajari is kept in the prison along with criminal prisoners and suffers from hyperglycemia, prostate gland, lumbar disc, poor eyesight and kidney stone. He has had a heart attack during the past four years of his detention in prison.

He had spent four years imprisonment since 12 Sept 2010 on the charge of acting against national security and insulting to the Supreme leader of Iran as Human Rights activists had acknowledged.
