Mohsen Shoja, who was arrested last week, began a hunger strike to protest against the arbitrary arrests on November 24, 2015. The 32-year-old activist is asking Iranian authorities to release the detainees, who were arrested on November 21 and taken to Gharchak prison, his relatives said.
Mr. Shoja was arrested along with seven activists by Iranian security forces in Vanak Square on November 23, 2015; officials have reportedly taken them to Evin. Previously, he had been allegedly detained by Cyber Police (FATA) in Taleghani Avenue of Tehran on September 3, 2014, and his case was referred to Evin Court, the rights groups declared.
The court accused him then of the vague charges of acting against national security, propaganda against the regime of Iran and disturbing public orders, according to the news. He was finally released on bail after a few months.
