Behrouz Alkhani was hanged by gallows in the Central Urmia prison on Wendsday morning, rights groups said.

Mr. Alkhani, who had been reportedly transferred to the solitary confinement to execution, was executed on 26 August 2015.

He along with five other prisoners was hanged by gallows in the Central Urmia prison yard. The other prisoners had been allegedly sentenced to the death penalty for drug-related crimes, Campaign to Defend Civil and Political Prisoners in Iran reported.

Mr. Alkhani, a 31-year-old man from Iran's Kurdish minority, was arrested for the relationship with PJAK Party in Salmas County on 27 Jan 2010. He, from Salmas County in West Azerbaijan Province, had been detained along with 15 others by Iran's security forces, according to the news received by the BCR Group.

He was awaiting the outcome of a Supreme Court appeal, Amnesty International said. "The Iranian authorities must urgently halt Behrouz Alkhani's execution. Carrying out a death sentence while a prisoner is awaiting the outcome of his appeal is a serious violation of both Iranian and international law, and is an affront to justice,"said Said Boumedouha, Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Amnesty International.

Mr. Alkhani was accused of killing of Khoy's Persecutor and sentenced to the death penalty for "cooperating with PJAK Party" and "murder" at Branch first in the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Urmia chaired by Judge Chabok, confirmed by the Appeal Court at Branch 10, according to the news.

He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for carrying arms; his relatives have declared that officials seized no arms during the arrest.

Prison's officials had called his relatives for the last visit before the possible execution on 25 Aug 2015.

He had been in Intelligence Service chambers in the cities of Salmas, Khoy and Urmia. Mr. Alkhani was tortured during the investigation as he suffered both physically-psychologically abuses.

Mr. Alkhani's relatives are waiting for his beloved one dead body to be delivered.
