Iran: A Political Prisoner Hanged by Gallows

Sirwan Nazhawi, a Kurdish political prisoner, was executed by gallows in Central Tabriz prison on 9 August 2015.

On Saturday, the relatives were allegedly asked by prison officials to take Sirwan's corpse, as his brother Hussain Nazhawi said.

Sirwan was taken to the solitary confinement on 8 August for possible execution, rights groups declared.

He had been reportedly detained for "Moharebeh" through partnership in PJAK party (Party of Free Life of Kurdistan) on 5 July 2011, and finally convicted to the death penalty. The sentence held at Branch first of the Mahabad Revolutionary chaired by Judge Javadikia on 11 April 2012, eventually confirmed at Branch 31 by Iran's Supreme Court.

Connected, Ali-Ahmad Soleyman, An Iraqi citizen, was arrested in 2005 and sentenced to death on the charge of the relationship with PJAK party. Ali-Ahmad who also accused of murder two members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards pardoned by relatives consent.
