Iran: More pressure against the Users Who Use Proxy

The Iranian telecommunication company MTN announced that users� internet services who use proxy will be cut off by sending a message to users.

The company which is allegedly closed to the Revolutionary Guards imposes five days as a deadline, the audiences have been asked to remove the proxy setting in their systems.

MTN said in a text message that the proxy causes a drop in speed of the internet, and you have to remove the proxy within five days.

Iranian government imposes the systematic filtering against social networks and news agencies websites. �Iran is to expand what it calls "smart filtering" of the Internet, a policy of censoring undesirable content on websites without banning them completely� as Reuters said.

Iran has intensified online crackdowns and surveillance again despite freedom speech promises by Rouhani during his presidential election.

The regime has also continued to demonize the new media, accusing them of serving foreign interests.

Several citizens have been sentenced to death such as Soheil Arabi who has been convicted to death at branch 76 of the Criminal Court which appealed by branch 46 of the Supreme Court. He, 30, was sentenced to death through his writing on Facebook, so long as he was kept in solitary confinement for two months at Ward 2-Alef in Evin prison, before he was transferred to the General Ward 350 of the prison. Soheil was arrested on Nov 2013.
