Iran: Student of History Mohadeseh Ghasemi Arrested; No One Heard from Her Since the Arrest

Mohadeseh Ghasemi, the student of history at Kharazmi University, was arrested by security forces in Tehran on December 7, 2016. Authorities arrested her on the charges related with the anniversary of Cyrus the great Day, October 29, BCR Group has learned.

Ms. Ghasemi, resident in Tehran, was taken to an unknown location after the arrest, confirms HRANA. The 20 year old imprisoned student indicted for "propaganda against the regime of Iran" and transferred to Women's Ward at Evin prison after being bailed amounting $12,500 USD.

Authorities transferred her to Shiraz on December 10, 2016 because the file of "Cyrus the Great" anniversary is surveying in Fars province. She was told at Shahid Moghadas Court in Evin prison yesterday.

Mohadeseh Ghasemi has not had right to call her family since the arrest. She has written historical issues from the books that published in Iran on her Instagram account, says a local source.

Previously, another citizen Homayoun Panahi, the poet and philosopher researcher, was arrested on October 28 in Pasargad during Cyrus the Great Day anniversary. He was finally accused of charges "propaganda against the regime of Iran" and "assembly and collusion against national security" at court on November 27, 2016, then his detention was extended again.

Sufis and dervishes, Jews, the intellectual Abdolkarim Soroush and the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, according to Wikipedia.

Further, Ayatollah Hosein Nuri-Hamedani, an Iranian Twelver Shi'a Marja, has come out against Cyrus the Great Day (the anniversary of the entrance of Cyrus II into Babylon) in Pasargad.
